Did you know that Ireland only has 4.5 million people? New York city alone has 12 million…
Day 3 was really day 1 in my mind because I finally got my luggage back!!!! So I was freshly bathed, clothed, and ready to go for a full day of adventures. We did a sight seeing tour of Dublin, including St. Patricks Cathedral, Trinity College, and the residence of Ireland’s President (which looks exactly like the White House).
After the morning tour, a few of us went to the Guinness Factory right in Dublin! We walked around and adventured for 30 minutes to get there but it was well worth it. After seeing how Guinness is made we got to taste it! And then at the end we went to the seventh floor for the gravity bar to get our free pint of Guinness! I really didn’t mind the taste, but most of my friends hated it. But hey you’re only in Dublin once.
It’s so weird getting carded for 18 everywhere. It’s like they all see we are American and automatically assume we are underage and trying to drink.
Unfortunatley, we had a pretty disgusting welcome dinner, but the pub crawl afterwards was AWESOME. For 12 euros we got free shots at 5 different pubs and clubs in town with discounted drinks. The shots were very watered down so I was chugging beer everywhere. I was dancing and walking around in the pouring rain and all I could think was “I’m in freaking Dublin.”
I had a blast getting to know people on the trip and hearing live Irish music! My heart melted when I saw fiddlers and violinists in the streets everywhere. I really can’t lose that skill of mine.
Great GREAT day one again. The best has yet to come.
