I’ve recently come across recipes calling for “black lava salt,” claiming how amazing it tastes while providing health benefits. As an avid salt lover, I decided to give it a try.
As I scanned the spice aisle of Whole Foods (unfortunately Trader Joe’s didn’t carry it), my mouth fell to the floor when I saw the price: $12.99 for a jar of black lava salt.
Really?? Ugh. How ridiculous. Yet, I caved in and bought it.
Do I regret it? My bank account does, but not my taste buds. It definitely tastes different from table salt, and this jar will last me a very long time. Is it completely overpriced? Absolutely.
Perhaps Amazon carries it for cheaper, but in the moment of “my avocado is ripe and I need to make this dish,” buying it at Whole Foods was convenient.
You can see I went a little crazy over this combination! Two pieces of toast are enough for breakfast, but for dinner I definitely enjoyed having four. Super easy to put together and requires zero cooking.
